Out of Marvin's entire catalog, I can't think of any other song that's similar to 'Got to Give it Up' in any way. It's the ultimate party song and always will be. I'm happy for the guys in the Gap Band, now to have 11 writers on one song — I think that's pretty unusual. I think he did what he felt was the right thing to do.
